One day, novelist Minori Yomoda suddenly begins to see her dead friend Yuya. In order to find out the true nature of her psychic abilities, she goes to the house of Abe together with an ethnographer acquaintance Benio Ebikusa, and his assistant Aki Ikaruga.
However, Minori’s search for answers comes at a time when the village is very busy preparing for a once-a-year secret festival, Owatari.
Takaha Gekidan
A theater production unit for which Aya Takaha acts as scriptwriter, director and troupe leader. Takaha Gekidan was launched at Waseda University in 2005, receiving accolades from inside and outside the university.
It is characterized by a lyrical, cool style that picks out and laughs off the low-level and ubiquitous despair of everyday life, as well as the triviality and lifestyle of human beings who never change, whatever the struggle.
