In 2017, Get in touch brought together a diverse group of minority performers who don’t usually have the opportunity to gather, including wheelchair and prosthetic dancers, blind singer-songwriters, autistic rappers, petite actors, drag queens, and professionals from marionette troupes that have been around since the Edo period and formed the one-night only “Mazekoze Troupe” that has been presenting one-of-a-kind entertainment performances.
This sixth project is a film that questions social issues by filming and editing another story based on the recorded footage of the fifth stage performance. Furthermore, the project will feature a vibrant performance by a total of about 30 minorities who appeared in the film. (The film is approx. 90 min. and the performance is approx. 90 min.)
【General Incorporated Association Get in touch】
A pro bono organization led by actor Chizuru Azuma, which aims to realize a “mazekoze (diverse) society” that does not exclude anyone through art, music, film, stage performance, and other forms of entertainment. Plenty of works have been created which include the stage performance “Karakuri House under the Moonlight – Mazekoze Troupe–” that brings together minority performers, the film “I am what I am. – Over the Rainbow –” that collects the real voices of the LGBTQ community, and “MAZEKOZE Art” that connects society with the artwork of artists with disabilities. Discussions and group sessions with people who have difficulties living their daily lives “Ikizurasadayo! Zeninshugo!” and “Snack★Get~Chiimama Chizuru~” are also available on YouTube.
