Outline

Installation artists (euglena) and architectural design units Shu Ha Re: collaborated to create a new installation piece. This exhibition is characterized by the fusion of text, minerals, flat artwork, and the overall space. As visitors progress through the space divided by thin fabric, they read the text and move deeper into the space. At times, the minerals placed between the text seem to interact with the story like illustrations. By the time they finish reading the text, they find themselves in an open space filled with indistinct flat artwork and soft light.

The exhibition consists of texts on the theme of ‘hypnosis,’ rounded mineral formations resembling clay, flat artwork covered in thin Japanese paper that reflects gentle images, and a spatial arrangement centered around the theme of ‘half-sleep, half-awake.’ It offers visitors an experience of ‘journeying through the mind’.

Profile

(euglena)
Born in 1993 in Japan to Chinese-Thai and Peruvian-Japanese parents, (euglena) lives and works in Tokyo. Based on the concept of “reaffirming oneself in innocence,” she creates interactive works constructed with dandelion fluff that are not artificially powered, and also works on the themes of psychology and the body. In recent years, she invites viewers to experience a kind of inner time by visualizing the flow of time that departs from the cycles of technology, including the works using cotton wool that did not turn into seeds.
