“A collaborative piece between former Pina Bausch dancers and Japanese artists to merge two worlds”.
This summer, former Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch dancers and eight Japanese artists chosen by audition from among more than 200 participants will collaborate on a piece of a new genre, under the direction of Fabien Prioville who is also known as a successful former Pina Bausch dancer.
During the creation that takes place both in Germany and Japan, dancers interact by making pairs and rearranging them from time to time, and staying at each other’s places as they work on the piece.
“SOMA project” will be the world premiere which attempts to create an entirely new world with new “body (SOMA)”, through the collaboration of artists with different cultural backgrounds and physicality.
Started planning and producing performing arts with a focus on dance since 1986 and incorporated in 1991.
Services include management, booking and promotion for Japanese dancers both inside Japan and overseas.
While delivering a number of events and festivals, “Japanese Contemporary Dance Showcase” especially contributed to the development of Japanese dance scene in many aspects for more than a decade, by promoting Japanese dance market to overseas.
Also provides its broad network with local governments and enterprises for planning dance events and arranging dancers/choreographers depending on the needs.
