Japanese culture has always valued nature. This is the tradition of the people of Japan, who have lived with nature since ancient times. The Association for the Promotion of Traditional Japanese Culture is an NPO which aims to contribute to the promotion and advancement of traditional Japanese culture by increasing worldwide awareness of this culture’s appeal, and by carrying out projects which connect with the younger generation.

In regard to Asian countries in particular, the organization is expanding international exchange, while cultivating human resources in traditional culture in cooperation with universities. It aims to disseminate traditional Japanese culture in other Asian countries, not only in connection with the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, but continuously into the future. In its first edition in 2015, this project aims to carry out cultural exchange through a collaboration with a Vietnamese bamboo craft artist.
