Outline

Following a stint of ballet classes and rehearsals with second-year students from Israel’s Bikurey Ha’Itim Arts Center’s Maslool Professional Dance Program, which trains and produces professional dancers, Co. Yamada Un will perform in a double-bill at the Tmu-na Theater in Tel Aviv on March 25 and 26, 2016. Young Israeli dancers from Maslool will perform excerpts from Co. Yamada Un’s piece “Jusanya,” and the Japanese troupe will stage an updated version of its work “Monaka,” first performed in September the previous year.

【Co. Yamada Un】
A dance company founded by Un Yamada in 2002 that stimulates spectators’intelligence and sensitivity by witty and unique choreography, precise structure and the dancers’ vivid physicality. The company has performed in 31 cities in Japan and 23 cities in 15 other countries, and in recent years, not only in theaters but also in historical buildings and outdoors. Auditioning new members for each piece, now company has 17 dancers.
