For this, the second in our series of workshops for the “Rebirth of Light” Project, we welcome sociologist Hiroshi Kainuma as our special guest.

One of the country’s most celebrated young sociologists, Hiroshi Kainuma has garnered attention for his surveys combining fieldwork with academic techniques in Fukushima Prefecture, which he began before the Great East Japan Earthquake, and also for his numerous studies and presentations concerning various phenomena at the periphery of Japanese society.

As well as providing an introduction to his activities, Mr. Kainuma will participate in an exchange of opinions concerning approaches to the “Rebirth of Light” Project.
