Traditional Culture Program: Decision to hold new traditional culture experience program for foreigners in 2016
We inform you of the additional short programs that offer foreign visitors the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of traditional culture and performing arts around tourist attractions in Tokyo.
The program began in 2015, and had more than 28,000 participants during the last year. In addition to the “Japanese dance workshop” at the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center and the “Engei workshop” at the Edo-Tokyo Museum already underway almost every weekend, newly scheduled events include an “Edo-style Hand Painted Paper Lanterns workshop” and “Edo Sudare Coaster workshop” at the MOSHI MOSHI BOX Harajuku Tourist Information Center on August 20th (Sat) and 21st (Sun), a “Go” workshop at the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center on August 28th (Sun) and a “Tokyo kumihimo (braided cords) workshop”, “Kimono dressing workshop” and “Japanese flower arrangement workshop” at the Hama-rikyu Gardens on October 15th (Sat) and 16th (Sun).
