Outline

This is the 28th concert by a group of musicians who play the 20-stringed Koto, an instrument which is rooted in tradition but capable of responding to a variety of musical explorations. The program includes the premieres of two commissioned works―Dylan Lardelli’s “Tides and Embers for 20-stringed Koto and Guitar” and a composition by Noriko Hisada―as well as two works from the 1970s by Minoru Miki, and two earlier compositions commissioned for Hogakuten.
