SLOW MOVEMENT in TOYOSU

Outline

A variety of about twenty (scheduled) performers of all ages, nationalities, professions and disabilities will be recruited from the general public to produce a 40-minute or so performance piece through a series of workshops with artists and creative people from various fields. The performance will be led by circus artist Keisuke Kanai and dancer Kazuyo Morita, who has a prosthetic leg. Practice will incorporate a new training method brought back from preparation for the opening ceremony of the Rio 2016 Paralympics, presenting an all-new style of expression.

Profile

【Yoshie Kris】
Born in 1977 in Tokyo. While studying at Tokyo Zokei Univerisity, she learned practical skills in event and theater production. From 2006 to 2007, she studied at Domus Academy in Italy, receiving a master’s degree in business design. Upon returning to Japan, she has worked to connect local regions with experts from different fields, and to conceive and plan products and events, including participatory entertainment projects. In 2010, she developed osteosarcoma and was forced to give up working. In 2011, she was appointed as the director of the Yokohama Rendez-vous Project and founded Slow Label. She served as general director of Yokohama Paratriennale 2014.
