Outline

In commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of György Ligeti’s Death, three female musicians performing principally in Europe and the United States will play one of his masterpieces «Trio for Violin, Horn and Piano – Homage to Brahms», which has been rarely performed in Japan due to its requiring a high level of playing skills. Each performer will also dedicate the interpretation of a piece she considers suitable to play before the Trio. This selection includes Junmei Suzuki’s world premiere for horn solo, which is to be a homage to Ligeti’s Horn Trio paid by the 21st century music.
This concert will be held as part of Hokutopia International Music Festival owing a history of more than 20 years with contribution to contemporary classical music.
