Nohgaku or Noh is globally recognized through its designation by UNESCO as an important asset of humanity. This performance is designed to encourage deeper understanding of Japanese culture. With the theme of the affection between mother and child, this production features commentary and a Japanese-English subtitle system, giving audience members the opportunity to savor the depth of Noh.

“Hyakuman Hourakuno-mai,” in the style of the Kanze school of Noh

【THE NOHGAKU PERFORMERS’ ASSOCIATION】
The Nohgaku Performers’ Association was established in 1945 to manage all Noh performers, preserve and expand this traditional Japanese art, as well as to contribute to the nation’s culture through public performances. In March 2010, it was designated a public interest incorporated association by the Prime Minister, and registered as such the following month.
