Profile

The Hōgaku Composers Alliance 2010
This composition group focuses on the creation of new western music using Japanese traditional instruments. While it is no longer a rare occurrence for western musical composers to write for Japanese traditional instruments, there is still an insufficient amount of networking among composers with similar goals and interactions with performers of Japanese traditional instruments. The Hōgaku Composers Alliance 2010 solves this by creating a network among mutual composers, appealing to performers of Japanese traditional instruments, as well as supporting commissions, as a professional composition group, for new compositions and arrangements. Furthermore, this composition group presents a collection of new compositions in their annual “Catalogue of Sounds” concert.
