Co. Ruri Mito + Gobi dance company Co-production “Freestyle”

  • Organization : Co. Ruri Mito
  • Section : International project
  • Type of Grant Program : Single
  • Art Forms : Dance

Outline

International exchange activity between Co. Ruri Mito (Director Ruri Mito) and Gobi Dance Company (Director Rita Gobi). A duo piece ‘Freestyle,’ choreographed by Gobi and assisted by Mito was presented in Tokyo, Budapest, and Gdansk.
The Japan-Hungarian coproduction’s topic is the ‘homo ludens’, with the focus on racing that can keep the audience in the state of ‘suspense’. Our game is about how to learn to be aware of our own bodies; to concentrate the bodies into harmony or disharmony and to react on the competitors mysterious body sign, which is the main aim of our ‘body race’. In each country, these two internationally highly acclaimed emerging artists show what they have achieved in their exchange activities.
