The solo exhibition of Kika Suzuki “PARADIGM SHIFT” held from 10 to 19 October 2021.
In the year 2020, the artist Kika Suzuki has reached a major turning point in her artistic career through two contrasting experiences: the chaotic life in Tokyo during the Corona disaster and her residency in Shigaraki.
The exhibition space, oa, was originally a grocery store and is now being used as an alternative space, which is due to be demolished at the end of November 2021. We felt that it was very meaningful to hold a solo exhibition in such a place.
The world is at a turning point, the artist himself is at a turning point as an artist, the building is due to be demolished, and there are three “*Paradigm shifts” that are changing towards the newness of the future.
*Paradigm shift: a dramatic change in values, ideas and things that have been taken for granted.
