Outline

Due to concerns over the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in consideration of the health and safety of participants and staff members, this program was canceled.

The geisha who support the KaryuKai,,the world of the geisha,hold the annual Kagurazaka Odori (Annual Dance of kagurazaka)as an arena for the demonstrstion of the artistic accomplishments they train day, such as classical Japanese dance,tokiwazu (a style of joruri narrative used in Kabuki dance) traditional musical instrumente and Nagauta(singing accompaniment to the shamisen), Through the murturing of people with the necessaey artistic skills and by making sure these precious Japanese traditional arts passed on to the next generation, the aim is to contribute to the regeneration of the district overall.

Tokyo Kagurazaka Association
The Association in its present form is made up of the geisha association Geisha Kumiai and local and restaurants and originates from the Ushigome Sangyokai Association. Kagurazaka Odori (Annual Dance of Kagurazaka )began in 1963 as the Ushigome Satsuki Kai,and was held every one to three yeare until 1993 .After a short of suspension it resumed as the 1999,and in 2007 it was renamed Kagurazaka Odori (The Annual Dance of Kagurazaka).
