Outline

Due to concerns over the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in consideration of the health and safety of participants and staff members, this program was canceled.

“The Man Placed Himself at the Crossroads” is a theatrical production based on the Rice Riot over a century ago triggered by a fabricated newspaper report.
Tracing the life of KANEKO Naokichi, a businessman who aggressively expanded his business overseas in modern times in Japan, this play brings up the question: what a company, business, and work should be?
It is a revival of the production first performed in July 2018.

Profile

LiveUpCapsules
“LiveUpCapsules” creates an intimate atmosphere that the audience feels included and blended in, setting a theatre-in-the-round (a theatre in which the audience surrounds the stage) and removing the barriers between the audience and performer in all of our shows. The acting, sound, lighting, stage set, costume, etc. are directed all around, and the audience can enjoy the play with their five senses and be swayed emotionally and fully immersed in the story. We aim to create a unique ambience that envelops the entire theatre.
Many of our productions are set in modern times in Japan.
