Outline

“YELLOW” is a piano and dance film project about the colour yellow. A composer/pianist (Sayoko Kawano) and a choreographer/dancer (Misato Shimizu) worked on even ground.

Yellow is associated with sun, stars, and sunflowers and has a vigorous and warm image impression.
Also, yellow is the colour which warns you like railroad crossings or traffic lights.
For Japanese, Asian(=Yellow race) hate is a serious issue.
In the film industry, the “Yellow filter” effect, which adds a yellow filter on the scenes when they describe a poor or disputed area, is gaining attention for potential discrimination.

In this film, we suggested a new “Yellow” by describing various faces of the colour yellow with original piano music and contemporary dance.
