A Theater Company WHEY work, written and directed by Momoji Yamada and produced by Tatsuya Kawamura. The work, performed in 2010 by GEKIDAN NONOUE led by Yamada is set in the Tsugaru area of Aomori Prefecture; the work’s framework of a large family centering on a bride, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law was rewritten and performed against the backdrop of a contemporary local community.
WHEY
Whey is the liquid part of milk that separates from the solid curds during the process of making yogurt or cheese. It is thrown away in large quantities as industrial waste every day, but in fact it is drinkable.
It tastes like weak milk and is a little sour.
We would like to make things like whey that get thrown away in the production of something.
