The challenge always faced by creative activities in composition is to break through the barriers of classical works and generationally-ingrained traditions that need to be overcome in order to acquire a new modernity and universality.
At the same time, there are very few opportunities to reproduce recognized classics and works by the new generation.By performing a symphony composed in Japan in the 1930s and contemporary music works from the 1990s to the 2010s side by side, this project presented a part of Japan’s diverse achievements in orchestral creation.
