The fifth performance in a regular series by the Phidias Trio comprising Maiko Matsuoka on violin, Ryuta Iwase on clarinet and Erika Kawamura on piano. Under the concept “Connect the Dots” (connecting the dots to give the bigger picture), concert organizers tried the new and successful approach of starting with a piece by Akio Yasuraoka and then connecting masterpieces of the Second Viennese School, which greatly influenced Yasuraoka, with works by up-and-coming composers based in Austria.
Program
Akio Yasuraoka: Aria for Violin Solo, Aria Scomposta II
Alban Berg: Adagio from Chamber Concerto for Violin, Clarinet and Piano
Anton Webern: 4 Pieces for Violin and Piano op.7
Johannes Maria Staud: Bewegungen
Gerald Resch: Sostenuto
Thomas Wally: Soliloquy
