Since forming in 2018, spac-e has worked with the objective of putting forward a new musical experience in its design of performance spaces for acoustic instrumental music using electronic technology.
For its 2021 performances, the group held a unique lecture concert (#4a) incorporating ambient sound at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government-designated Tangible Cultural Property Kyudo Kaikan, as well as a concert (#4b) at the Suginami Koukaidou, where it introduced the essence of the world-famous electronic music research institute IRCAM. In addition, it held a workshop which gave young instrumentalists the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the field through the chance to perform using electroacoustics.
