As a participant in the 2021 Taiwan International Improvisational Music Festival and as an artist-in-residency at AIR Taipei, Suzuki produced a new work on the theme “memories and sounds of Taiwan,” gave a lecture/workshop at the Taiwan International Festival of Arts, and held a concert with local pianist Shih Yang Lee, who is one of the organizers of Taiwan International Improvisational Music Festival. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, organizers shifted participation in the Taiwan International Improvisational Music Festival online, and Suzuki’s creative work as well as its presentation at the exhibition at AIR Taipei was postponed for one year.

Elico Suzuki
suzueri is Tokyo based sound artist and improviser. Also known as Elico Suzuki. She plays circuitous and restless performances using pianos and founding objects combined with self-made instruments. Her recent interests have centred on the exploration of the gaps and narrative aspects between the interaction of instruments and particular embodiment, and between receiver and transmitter in primitive communication system.
