  • Organization : Dr. Holiday Laboratory
  • Section : Artistic and creative activity in Tokyo
  • Type of Grant Program : Single
  • Art Forms : Theater

Outline

A play based on A Plan for Escape by Argentinian novelist Adolfo Bioy Casares, and written and directed by Karera Yamamoto.

The play begins with an interview with performers from the premiere of A Plan for Escape which is supposed to have been staged in the past. The performers are interviewed about an incident caused by the director at the premiere. The work then becomes a recreation of the play at the time of the premiere. It questions what a play is, and what it means to play a role in theater or in society, referencing methods used in J-horror etc.

The three members of Dr. Holiday Laboratory are Karera Yamamoto who wrote and directed this work, Rhovien Manabat, who acted in it, and Riho Onodera who was the producer. It was performed by Asahi Ishikawa, Tao Kurosawa(Seinendan), hiyorigeta(noruha), Ayane Yui, and Rhovien Manabat.
