Outline

This is a project offering beautiful new music unique to a particular time and place by an ensemble that combines the individual musicality of Eiko Suzuki and Takumi Kakimoto, two composers who explore the appeal of jazz composition. The duo’s music is created by using various methods of jazz composition, and the audience was able to enjoy their vivid, contemporary and fresh sound in full big band formation.

Profile

Eiko Suzuki
She graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2018. She received the Berklee & Noble Award in 2017 and the Toshiko Akiyoshi Award in 2018 from Berklee.
She performed at the 18th Tokyo Jazz Festival with the piano duet project EIKO + ERIKO. She was selected for the 12th Golden Indie Music Awards “BEST ASIAN CREATIVE ARTIST” in Taiwan. She played in Fuji Rock 2021 as a progressive jazz band “EYRIE”.
She arranged the brass bands that participated in the 7th and 8th Symphonic Jazz &Pops National Competition and has been highly acclaimed in the music magazine “Band Journal”.
