The concert was held to demonstrate afresh the appeal of classical songs unique to the music of the Yamada style of Koto (Japanese harp), through such means as changing the arrangement of the songs.
Senga Yamaki
Senga Yamaki was born in July 1977 in Tokyo City as the seventh-generation eldest daughter of Senga Yamaki the Ⅵ, the sixth generation of the Yamaki occupational branch family, the Yamada school of Koto that goes back to the Edo period.
She is currently Director of the Japan Sankyoku Association and the Yamada Style Koto Association, Chairperson of Yamaki Kai, and a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of the Arts.
