The suburbs of the city.
Thirty-three-year-old Chiyoko Uno moved to Tokyo from the countryside but is an aimless job-hopper working part time in an old sento public bathhouse.
Her modest pleasure is to soak herself in the bathtub after finishing work and fantasize about herself living a different life in a parallel world as a chanson singer, an astronaut, a celebrity housewife, a formidable politician, and so on.
The time spent immersed in fantasies always soothed Chiyoko.
But one day, the sento is suddenly slated for demolition, forcing her to change her life….
The me who plays a role and the me who lives a normal everyday life. Neither can be said to be me, and neither is undeniably me.
This performance explored anew the reconciliation between these two aspects of the self, and the possibilities for performing arts.
