Outline

Stemming from his interest in the concept of “being there,” Takuya Takemoto’s work has focused on solo performances featuring movement such as standing and walking. This project comprised a showing of the early stages of creation for Takemoto’s first choreography/directing work.
Besides the showing of the work, there was also a presentation on the project and a discussion with audience members.

Profile

Takuya Takemoto
Born in 1990, Gunma Prefecture. Graduated from Musashino Art University Department of Imaging Arts & Sciences. Completed “Things similar but different to theater” course at Bigakko. Stemming from his interest in what “being there” means, his performances focus on movement such as standing and walking. Solo performances to date include “I saw a newt”(Kinosaki international art center, Toyooka theater festival 2022 fringe), “came to see mountains”(Goethe-institut Toky, Dance New Air 2020->21).
