Twice a month, the Association holds standalone drama workshops run by professionals in the human service field. Participants are welcome regardless of age or disability: most are people looking for emotional support, people aiming at self-discovery and self-reinvention, people who want to gain confidence by interacting with others, and people who want to de-stress, by means of enjoying theater with other participants.
Workshop content is flexible, changing on the spot in accordance with the participant lineup for each session. Sessions are designed to provide a relaxing and stress-free theater experience by progressively increasing interaction between participants. The aim is for workshop participants to enjoy the experience of creating a play in cooperation with each other.
Ippansyadanhoujin Hitotsunagari (General Incorporated Association Hitotsunagari)
Ippansyadanhoujin Hitotsunagari (General Incorporated Association Hitotsunagari) was established in 2019 to provide support to the community through theater. It was founded by the representative director, who since 2006 had been involved in theater-related activities aimed at providing support for hikikomori (people exhibiting severe socially avoidant behavior). With many years of experience as a psychologist, the representative director had been involved in the support of people finding everyday life difficult, predominantly children and young people. The Association’s representative director leverages this experience to manage a “drama community” with other professionals in the human service field.
