Outline

After years of rigorous professional training, composer HIRANO Ichirô continues to question his own identity, engaging in a process of contemplation and practice as he visits festivals and musical events throughout Japan from his base in Kyoto. For over 20 years since 2001, he has elevated his art into a body of work full of originality, without following trends.
This was HIRANO’s first solo production in Tokyo, focusing on his string and piano works, considered the font of his creativity, and ranging from “KUUYA” op.1 (2001) to his latest work. Having come to a full understanding of the characteristics of the instruments through intense collaboration with musicians, HIRANO’s music uncovers sounds of Eastern origin deep within, despite utilizing typical Western instruments and arrangements. Cutting-edge technique driven musical experiences you never thought possible were offered by virtuosos NARITA Tatsuki, Zydre, TSUSHIMA Keisuke, ADACHI Mari, YAMAZAWA Kei, and SATO Takashi, who also perform as soloists.
