Ofuton
A Koki Tokuchi-led troupe formed in 2011. Its recent works have been chiefly based on classical plays such as Greek tragedies and works by Shakespeare. Ofuton’s text is characterized by its blend of the intrinsic worldview of classical drama, contemporary social issues, and images from pop culture. Through consciously bringing to light the boundary between reality and fiction, Tokuchi’s style is to actively raise questions in the mind of the audience regarding issues surrounding people today.
