LAND FES DIVERSITY Fukagawa 2023

  • Organization : LAND FES
  • Section : None
  • Type of Grant Program : Single

Outline

In the Fukagawa area of Koto-ku, two groups of dancers (Yu Okamoto, and Naoyuki Sakai & Shun Nakamura) led a workshop featuring mainly participants with disabilities before going out into the streets to record video works. The recording of the video work was structured so that the two groups of dancers were each in charge of a four-day workshop. The aim was to create video works that leveraged local characteristics and the individuality of each participant by strengthening the relationship between the artists and the participants, and between the artists and the local area.

Profile

LAND FES
Since 2011, LAND FES has been holding “LAND FES,” a walking-style performance event in which participants can experience live performances by dancers and musicians in various areas including Kichijoji, Nishikoyama, Koenji, Sengawa, and Nakanobu. Since then, while expanding the event to different areas, organizers have been working on combining the creativity of artists with local resources. At the same time, since 2014 LAND FES has continued to hold workshops for people with disabilities, inviting a variety of artists to be instructors.
