Outline

The work is set in modern times and the protagonist is a 25-year-old woman. One day, she visits her dream wedding venue with her fiancé. There, she encounters a morose bridal consultant, who tells her the only reason she and her fiancé are accepted in a society where there are people not allowed to marry is because of their natural reproductive potential. The words act as a trigger, and the moral values she has built up over the past 25 years start to crumble. She wonders if the things that have been ingrained in us as beautiful, like love and emotional connection, are in reality nothing more than words.
Once you start to doubt, there’s no end to it, so just say yes to everything.

Profile

Eastern Borzois
Theater group spearheaded by playwright Hiiragi Shimakawa, composer Asuka Kuno, and director Misako Odate. They began their activities in 2018 while students at Tokyo University of the Arts with the aim of creating musicals that sparked the Japanese physique and language. In September of the same year, the three staged the musical “Nanno Koreshiki” with a plethora of young artists.

They formed Eastern Borzois in 2020 with the aim of further developing their creativity. After postponing performances due to the coronavirus pandemic, in March 2021 they staged the musical “Nanno Koreshiki 2020,” officially starting their activities as a theater company.

In 2022 they expanded the company with the addition of eight members. To date Eastern Borzois has produced five original musicals and continues with its activities to the present day.
