Incorporating an artist’s perspective into the daily activities of Kamimachi Co-bo (Support for Continuous Employment Type B) and communicating to the neighborhood rich moments from everyday life at the facility and the relationships between staff and facility members has created a point of contact between local residents and facility members. To give a specific example, using the occasion of a nearby greenway walk – one of the facility’s initiatives – facility members gave an original dance performance of “Kamimachi Guts Ondo” as they paraded around the walkway. In addition, artists participated in the “Art no jikan” leisure activity for workers which the facility holds on a regular basis, making performance costumes and promotional material together with facility members.
