What we do

OUT OF THE FIREMAN

  • Organization : Naoto Nakamura
  • Section : Artistic and creative activity in Tokyo
  • Type of Grant Program : Single Individual
  • Art Forms : Visual Art / Media Art

Outline

Inspired by the film “Fahrenheit 451”, which depicts a world where speech is repressed, this exhibition mainly comprises photographs and video works. The fictional world that emerges from the photographs is intertwined with reality, where instances of engagement and cooperation with others have fallen sharply with historical events such as the pandemic and wars of recent years. The act of viewing a work clouds the extent to which it is a story, creating the illusion that the viewer himself/herself is part of the narrative.
