Yurakucho Window Gallery 2024 is a project involving the display of contemporary artworks in the windows and interiors of shops along Tokyo’s Marunouchi Naka-dori street, one of Japan’s foremost luxury shopping districts, as a way of offering contemporary art as an everyday experience along with shopping and dining. For a limited time, eight participating stores were bedecked with works by eight up-and-coming contemporary artists which were selected to match the image of each store. The project creates complementary opportunities for existing art fans to visit Marunouchi Naka-dori, and for existing shoppers/diners to encounter art.
Participating shops: Ippodo Tea, Allbirds, THE LAKOTA HOUSE, Gente di Mare, TexturA, NUMBER SUGAR, Paraboot, bois de gui
Participating artists: Yuriko Asano, Rentaro Kawamoto, Midori Sato, Yumiko Shinozaki, Isao Sugiyama, Stephanie Quayle, Takuro Tamayama, Mana Yamamoto
