In this composite event, a selection of stage productions is represented as audio recordings and illustrations so they can be enjoyed outside of their actual performances. Also on offer are talks, live drawing by performers, plays etc. in an exhibition space-cum-café so people can enjoy their visit in a space where they can interact.
The works comprise a new omnibus story, the radio drama “Sea Voyage,” the concept of which ties in with Kotaro Ono’s previous work “Chased,” as well as a live performance, “Waves.”
The concept of the works is to explore the “the art of survival” in tumultuous times against the backdrop of a large-scale occurrence – which could be a natural disaster or a man-made disaster, but this isn’t made clear – by depicting the point of contact between what causes damage and what is damaged, the vestiges of a working community seen in fragments of individual lives, etc.
The works can be enjoyed together as one or individually.
