Event features
Course content will be split according to participants’ abilities, from beginners to those with experience, and participants will showcase what they have learned over four workshop sessions at a presentation on the final day. Furthermore, for this course we are planning an ensemble performance on stage so that participants get firsthand experience of the unique breathing techniques and pauses of hogaku traditional Japanese music, a form of music that produces an orderly performance without a conductor.
Publicity methods for the recruitment of participants (collaboration, cooperation, networking, etc.)
In addition to placing notices about recruitment of participants in Chiyoda-ku’s newsletter, we will ask public and cultural facilities in Shinjuku-ku and Chiyoda-ku to carry and display recruitment flyers. We will also solicit participants on social media (Instagram, Facebook).
Ways to enable participants to continue with practical skills experience (other than programs covered by this grant) after the end of the event
We can introduce those who want to continue learning the shamisen after the workshop to instructors, instrument stores, etc. depending on individual needs and conditions.
