Seeking CAST for “Kunitachi Art Center 2024”

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Others

Roughly 30km and 40 minutes away from Shinjuku.
Many artists have studios and live in the Tama region, including in Kunitachi City.
Kunitachi Art Center is a program that extends across the city with exhibitions at studios, galleries, and stores dotted in and around Kunitachi City.
The program also offers a behind-the-scenes look at artwork creation – something not normally accessible to the public – as well as interest and enjoyment beyond simply viewing a work, something which arises out of communication with the artists themselves.
The program will be rolled out in local neighborhoods, with the entire city as its domain. Going around the different exhibitions may help you rediscover the city and engender new perspectives.
This year’s program – the fifth – has moved from spring to fall, and scheduled events include tours of exhibitions spaces, talk events for the first time in three years, open studio sessions and workshops. Programs in the community will help communicate and present culture in a way that is more closely connected to everyday life.
We aim to foster culture in the local area while exploring the margins of creative activity.
You can apply for the program for any reason: as well as art lovers, we also welcome those who want to be involved in event management, and those who want to talk to a variety of people.
You may apply regardless of age, occupation, or volunteer experience.
Come join us for Kunitachi Art Center 2024.
