Announcement: Traditional Culture Experience Program for Foreign Visitors "Shishimai and kyokugei" at Haneda Airport
Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture) implements various programs aimed for people who are not familiar with traditional Japanese culture and arts, like Foreign visitors and children, to freely enjoy authentic traditional culture and performing arts, with the theme of “Approaching Tokyo Tradition.” For 5 days between July 2nd (Mon.) and July 6th (Fri.), shishimai and performance arts experiences will be held at Haneda Airport International Passenger Terminal . During the event, a shishimai will parade the 4F and 5F of the airport, and spectators can experience being bitten on the head to receive good luck. Visitors will also be invited to try traditional acrobatics themselves at the 5F Festival Plaza , after an acrobatics show that includes kasamawashi.
