Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL Public Call Adopted Projects Presentation Forum to be Held
With less than one year to go before the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL’s key initiative, the Public Call for Project Proposals, kicks off from September. In 2018, a total of 2,436 proposals were submitted from Japan and overseas.
Thirteen proposals were selected and each will be implemented as part of the cultural program of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture. All the proposal planners, except for one proposal which remains secret, will gather for the first time and give presentations about their proposals, project visions, and challenges for 2020. Their presentations will follow the “PechaKucha” format of presenting 20 slides for 20 seconds each, with reference to 2020.
The evening will also feature a performance by singer KOM_I of the group Wednesday Campanella, and another by Shuta Hasunuma, who is not only active as a musician but also in other areas including contemporary art. This performance has been specially arranged for this forum and should not be missed.
