While the Olympic and Paralympic Games are a festival of sport, they are also a festival of culture, in which many people have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity. With the cooperation of private sector companies and other organizations, TOPACO (Tomin Performer’s Corner) aims to build a mechanism enabling everyone to participate in the Cultural Program for the Olympic and Paralympic Games by creating places throughout the city where Tokyoites can present the fruits of the hours that they put into practicing their art. As an ongoing initiative, this will build momentum in the run-up to 2020, in partnership with private sector companies and the citizens of the metropolis.
