“Proof” will be staged in three versions: Japanese, English, and bi-lingual.
Firstly, tackling the work’s original language English allows audiences to experience the “cultural richness” of the original, something which tends to be lost when a foreign play is performed in Japanese. Offering an English version means this will not be lost in the Japanese version.
Furthermore, performing a bilingual version with a Japanese-English mix will provide audiences with an experimental, new version of “Proof” like nothing that has been seen elsewhere.
