The program will be held at three performances on December 26 (Tue.) at 19:00 and December 27 (Wed.) at 14:00 and 19:00.

In addition to the members of Moderndies, participants from various backgrounds such as dance experience, gender, and age participated in the core work of the program, “Immunity of loneliness” and through weekly workshops, they delved into the theme of “confronting the various types of loneliness that lurk in Tokyo” to create an outstanding work. The result was an outstanding work of art.
The workshops were attended by a wide range of audiences of all ages, and each age group was able to empathize with the theme of loneliness.
The dance troupe Moderndies
In 2016, leading male modern dancers over 50 years old were brought together by the late Yoji Hanawa. The dance troupe was born, consisting only of male dancers in their 50s to 80s, which is unprecedented in Japan. Each member is highly individualistic and has a different style of expression. However, their individuality inspires and resonates with each other to create a new worldview. The fact that the different personalities do not clash is due to the individual’s broad and matured outlook on life. The chic, gentle, and sad works of the modern dancers offer a new sense of value in the world of contemporary dance.
