“Jazz meets Classic” brings pianist Makoto Ozone, a versatile player capable of switching effortlessly between jazz and classical styles, together with top jazz musicians and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra for an incredible musical experience. Joining Ozone at this year’s concert, the fourth in the program’s history, is Cuban-born, world-famous jazz pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba.
In addition to a stirring performance of Bartok’s Concerto for 2 Pianos, Percussion, and Orchestra, the performance also includes a jazz session by the two feature musicians.
