Workshop - "Let's Make an Opera!"
Workshop 1 - Be a character in an opera! (dancers)

The movement of your body will create the world of the opera!

This dance “workshop” is taught by Noriko Ito, choreographer, and Tomomi Egawa, director, of the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Opera BOX “Carmen”. Expression and communication skills will be cultivated through acting and dance, and a recital will be held on the final day.
Selected participants will appear in the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Opera BOX “Carmen”, and perform an opera scene together with leading musicians!

Program

Bizet: Carmen (4 acts; sung in Japanese) – Highlights version

Number of participants / Entry requirements *The deadline for receipt of applications has passed.

Number of participants: 10 – 30
*To be decided by lottery if there are many applicants

Participants: High school students to adults up to 28 years of age

Entry requirement: Must be able to attend on all of the specified dates

Application period: Jun 1 (Sat) – Jul 5 (Fri) (postmark date)

Final presentation

Recital on the final day, Sep 8 (Sun)
*Participants selected as final members will perform in the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Opera BOX “Carmen” on Nov 24 (Sun), 14:00 (Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Recital Hall), after attending about 10 training sessions starting in late October.
