AKITEN FARMART

A one-day-only festival of fantastic Hachioji flavors

Genre:
  • Visual Art / Media Art ,
  • Art Project ,
  • Workshop ,
  • Others

FARMART sets up shop in a vacant location in Hachioji for a one-day-only festival of food. Built around the four keywords of “buy,” “know,” “eat,” and “experience,” the event gathers farmers, growers, cooks, bakers, and artists together to sell the whole range of different components that go into great meals: the fresh vegetables and ingredients, the dishes and baked goods made from those ingredients, and the bowls and cutlery for serving it all up. FARMART also includes workshops led by artisans and other seasoned experts. In all, FARMART gives people opportunities to encounter the unfamiliar, make connections with people from outside their normal circles, and think about what comfortable living really means.
