Workshop #1: Ikebukuro, Itabashi, Oyama, and Kanamecho
Join us in making a documentary film about the city…seen from your perspective!
In this project, participants will gather in various areas of Tokyo, and create documentary films through workshops. The field for #1, the first event, is “Ikebukuro, Itabashi, Oyama, and Kanamecho.” If you have any memories, such as from you or your friends living there, or going to school or a favorite shop in these areas… join us, share your episodes with us as we walk the streets! Through gathering such episodes and perspectives, we look forward to creating diverse “films of the city.”
Members, through a four-day workshop, will reflect on their own backgrounds in various ways, using photography, video, and audio, while walking through the city. Forming groups with other people from various backgrounds, we will collectively discuss and cooperate with each other to create a short film. On the final day of the workshop, a screening will be held to showcase the works produced by each participant.
*In response to the COVID-19 situation: activities will be conducted in small groups, and fieldwork, shoots, etc. will be conducted avoiding close contact. Depending on the situation, we may decide to switch how the workshops are held between face-to-face and online.
*Program contents are subject to change.
