“null – free places and arty ideas” is a project concerned with creating a diverse, free and “blank-space”environment for the creation of an autonomous cultural and artistic community where different values intermingle. With “null null konekuto” (‘kneading smoothly’) as its watchword, organizers aim to expand and spread art-centric, diverse and deep-seated networks between people, between people and places, and between people and ideas.
Artist Collective Fuchu (ACF) holds null events introducing various spaces around Fuchu by touring around places and areas where ACF events and exhibitions are held.

This time around, the event is taking place at ACF’s new space, “Yado (kari).”
For a limited time, this location in the Daitokyo Sogo Oroshiuri Center – Fuchu Wholesale Market will operate as a space for the exhibition of artworks, art workshops, art-related exchange, and to introduce the activities of ACF.

The theme for the 8th null event is “something I made myself.”
By holding a “Postcard Submission” initiative based on an asynchronous framework in which participants share what they bring online and in-person over a set period instead of gathering at one time, and through null events in which participants gather at the same time and place for theme-based interaction and exchange, organizers will expand the concept of “something I made myself” from a variety of angles.

For the null event, participants introduce “something I made myself” to each other in the form of role-play modeled on the somewhat unfamiliar art auction. It may be simulated, but we believe bidding for works on the market will enable participants to appreciate the works from a different perspective than usual.
Why not build on mutual interaction and exchange, discovering common ground with/aspects of each other you didn’t know before, talking about what you think, and what you’re interested in?

*This event will be run with measures in place to prevent the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).

2.null event @ Yado (kari)

We build on mutual interaction and exchange by introducing “something I made myself” as we engage in role-playing in the form of a pretend art auction. At the end, organizers will conduct a questionnaire on things and places of interest to use as reference for the next null event.
