Exhbition: Creating expression from records 2023

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Exhibition / Screening

In the workshop “Creating expression from records” held annually in summer since 2022, participants started by gathering records and making their own records based on their personal interests; they have since practiced creative expression designed to make records and research accessible, all the while sharing processes and dialogue with each other.

This exhibition will delve into the themes that the participants have been working on since the workshop. It will explore and present the current forms of expression of the themes each participant has worked on since the workshop, and will consist of works and archival materials created based on subsequent research.

The themes are wide-ranging in line with each participant’s experience of everyday life, but when you place the themes side by side, you find similar subjects/issues or conversely, discover that the details are different even if the subjects/issues are similar.

This is a project that each participant will (perhaps) tackle long term as their life’s work.
We have a feeling that stopping at each turning point or milestone, giving shape to and presenting works and sharing them with diverse people will lead to even more productive and satisfying activities for all involved.
Please come enjoy the current guise of this unique project.
